Companies still working on natural extract-based Covid-19 drugs

While Korean pharmaceutical and biotech companies have been slow to develop Covid-19 treatments, some continue developing Covid-19 drugs using natural ingredients.
Genencell obtained the regulatory nod for local phase 2 and 3 trials of an oral Covid-19 drug candidate ES16001 on Tuesday last week.
Genencell plans to conduct the trials in five countries, including Korea, India, and three nations in Europe. The company hopes to recruit 1,130 participants, including 50 Koreans.
